Domain Name

So, you got your topic, now you need to brand it with a domain name.  A domain name is like your brand, let’s say you’re making a website about “street soccer” then you need to brand it with a nice name that relates to street soccer.

Finding a domain that isn’t already registered yet is a pain, you might have to use “-” or we call them (dashes) to separate words.  If streetsoccer.com is not available then try street-soccer.com using dashes won’t danger your site’s reputation.  Mos tof the times, dashed domain names are not avaliable as well.  You might want to make it specific. Like, streetsoccerineu.com for street soccer in Europe.  Be creative and try to make it as memorize-able as it can be.

After you find your domain name that’s available to register, you need to find a Registrar.  I have been using Netfirms.com since 2005.  When I bought my first domain, I got it from there for 4.99$ but now it’s more expansive.  I did get to use other Registrar’s so I do know how others are, and believe me I am glad I sticked with Netfirms.Com

Company Price
Netfirms.com $7.99
Enom $29.95
Network Solutions $35.00
Register.com $35.00

After getting your domain name, you need a web host.  Click here to read about Web Hosting.
